My Journey through Tech

My Journey Through Tech: Junior IT Analyst Program Day 21

Continuing with  my weekly reflection of NPowerCanada’a IT Analyst program I find myself getting more comfortable within this setting. It’s not just technical training alone, today for example we had representatives from Civic Action come in for LinkedIN.

An advantage of them coming in is that I now have access to LinkedIn Learning until October of 2020. This is good for me because I had a linkedin premium for a few months but quit becasue of precarious finanaces. Further I can demonstrate my commitment to lifelong learning. I believe that’s plenty of time to get through the Ethical Hacker pathway courses they have available. My plan for now is continue building my blockchain project and study for E-council’s CEH exam and Ciscos Security and Routing/Switching exams. I figured I’ve got the manuals might as well read  them to ready myself.

I’ve also started researching componenets needed for virtual testing labs. The focus for now is to focus on making myself more employable. The good news is, that in the next couple of weeks, potential employers are starting to observe this cohort. It’s kind of weird for somebody to intentionally scout us but also kind of exciting. Thinking about my future I’ll even consider working abroad since this is a global employment training scheme in the interest of multinational corporations. I’ll take any opportunity I can get.

Furthermore we’ve managed to get the chapter exams via Net Acad. We also have another group project due on the 20th of February. I find myself getting more accustomed to my group, though I still find myself being impatient with redundant questions being asked by a different protion of the cohort. Still we’ve finished the hardware portion and should start the networking portion next.

I’ve also managed to complete another section of a blockchain course which can be read here. For now it’s to continue going forward by taking it one day at a time.
